What will your day look like?
As a Project Manager at CTI, you are responsible for the planning, procurement and execution of digital projects for a host of clients spanning multiple industry sectors. Our team works closely between the operational delivery and a customer-facing capacity to facilitate, coordinate and manage requirements as well as provide vital status and progress updates, conveying timeline estimations and success stories as well as challenges to all stakeholders.
Our Project Managers thrive by identifying when and where to delegate tasks whilst retaining overall responsibility for the delivery of a project, utilising reporting and industry-standard Project Management and Resourcing tools.
Overseeing multiple projects through all phases of development, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control and closure.
Meeting cost, time and quality objectives when delivering projects.
Ensuring detailed project, implementation or action plans are created for the duration of each project as appropriate
Producing agreed levels of reporting on all projects being delivered.
Delivering whole solution milestones against the plan
Identifying project resource requirements and working with the resource manager to ensure resource availability and allocation.
Managing day-to-day activities of the project team to ensure each project remains on schedule and budget. Several of these activities may be delegated to a Project Coordinator.
Creating, maintaining and tracking project plans and schedules, cost estimates, and risk and issue logs throughout the life of the project.
Measuring project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, and providing routine status reports to clients and management, escalating issues as deemed necessary.
Working with the Resource Manager to plan resources in conjunction with sprint timelines.
Tracking progress of development work and reporting to clients, CTI account managers and senior management.
Managing costs and revenues for all assigned projects.
Scope Management
Collaborating with the lead developer, developers, strategists and company executives to determine the software's technical direction, system design and implementation plan.
Managing changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs, defining contingencies where possible.
Supporting the Commercial Team in the preparation of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and pitches
Working with clients and CTI staff to define project requirements,
Proactively facilitating the identification of value-enhancing features across design, development and marketing activities to optimise client ROI.
Methods & Processes
Skills analysis techniques - work with the Heads of Department and HR to ensure the organisation has the right skills at the right time to efficiently meet project and service requirements.
Experience with waterfall, agile and hybrid project management methodologies.
Delivery of projects to fixed cost and time & materials commercial models.
Review and adhere to process documentation, identifying and implementing relevant improvements.
Business Improvement
Help identify improvements to the resource planning and production process.
Lead project retrospectives and help ensure lessons learned are incorporated into best practice.
Key Skills & Qualities
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
Numeracy, maths and project accounting skills
Understanding of resource planning in a matrix organisation in the software/web development industry.
Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills to work at all levels to effectively set and articulate performance goals
Mindful of team dynamics, resolving issues or conflicts and supporting team morale.
Highly organised, calm and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail
Work effectively within a team
Constantly learn and adapt to new approaches and methods
Naturally, solving challenging problems
Ability to be flexible by adapting quickly to changing priorities
Comfortable with coordinating and collaborating with business teams to drive required decisions and outcomes
Cross-functional relationship building is paramount. The role must be able to successfully work with and influence individuals not directly under their control
Excellent written and spoken English is essential
Able to focus on a clear goal in all actions
Skills about JIRA tools and other project management tools are preferable
Location: Our head office is in Manchester city centre (Ancoats) - we adopt a hybrid working model (2 days in the office per week)
Salary: Dependent on Experince
