The team
Our UX team sits at the heart of our human-centred approach to digital experiences. We combine deep user insights with innovative thinking to create intuitive, inclusive and impactful digital design.
Working across public sector, non-profit and commercial clients, our UX practitioners are embedded within multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating with researchers, developers and marketers to build accessible, evidence-driven digital solutions that make a difference.
We’re champions of user needs – from initial discovery through to delivery and optimisation. Whether it’s conducting field research, facilitating stakeholder workshops or defining service blueprints, we shape the user experience across every touchpoint.
What you’ll be doing
As Head of UX, you'll lead the evolution of CTI Digital’s UX capability – shaping the strategic vision, mentoring a team of talented researchers and designers, and ensuring user-centred thinking is embedded in everything we do. You’ll be hands-on in key accounts and pitches, while also setting the standard for excellence across our growing UX practice.
Your role will span strategy, leadership, and delivery – influencing business outcomes through intelligent, inclusive and purposeful design. You’ll play a vital part in connecting user needs with organisational goals, ensuring every product or service we deliver is both useful and usable.
As CTI’s Head of UX, you will:
🧭 Define and evolve our UX strategy, aligning it with business objectives and ensuring it supports wider delivery teams.
🎯 Lead on major UX projects, defining the strategy, setting direction, reviewing outputs, and providing hands-on support when needed.
👥 Manage a growing team of UX Designers and Researchers – including line management, project oversight and mentorship.
🌱 Support new business and growth opportunities, contributing to proposals, pitching, and positioning CTI’s UX offering in the marketplace.
📈 Shape and maintain standards for UX quality, accessibility and research rigour across all projects.
🤝 Collaborate with senior stakeholders internally and with clients, providing strategic consultation, facilitating workshops and influencing digital direction.
🛠 Oversee UX activities from discovery to delivery, including user journeys, prototypes, testing, wireframes and service maps.
📢 Advocate for UX across the business – championing user needs, driving education, and creating alignment between product, design and tech.
🔍 Stay ahead of trends and innovations in UX, accessibility and inclusive design, embedding them in how we work.
What you need to be successful
To thrive as our Head of UX, you’ll be a seasoned UX leader with a background in both hands-on design and team leadership. You’ll be confident in shaping strategy, managing people, and influencing at all levels – while still being close enough to the work to make a direct impact.
We’re looking for someone who is:
✔️ An experienced UX practitioner with a strong portfolio of delivering successful, user-centred digital projects.
✔️ Skilled at balancing user needs with business goals, and using insight to influence product and design decisions.
✔️ Able to facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions with ease, both remotely and in person.
✔️ Proficient with tools like Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, and experienced in presenting UX concepts with clarity.
✔️ Knowledgeable in accessibility standards, inclusive design principles, and service design methodology.
✔️ Comfortable owning UX strategy from discovery to delivery – including research, testing, IA, and design systems.
✔️ An exceptional communicator who can simplify complex ideas, lead discussions, and bring people on the journey.
✔️ Passionate about creating digital experiences that genuinely help people – with a strong ethical compass and commitment to doing the right thing.

📞Screening Stage - a 30-minute exploratory call with our Talent Team
💻1st Stage - Video call with our Growth team. A chance to explore the role and responsibilities.
📆2nd Stage - A face to face interview with a member of the UX Team and our Growth Director. A take home task will give you the chance to show off your skills.
